Abigail qualified as a solicitor in September 2023 following completion of her training contract at Dawson Cornwell; she now works primarily in our Matrimonial Department.

Abigail has an Upper Second (MA Hons) degree in French and History from the University of Edinburgh. As part of her French course, she spent a year studying in France at Université Paris-Sorbonne IV. After graduating in 2018, Abi studied the GDL at Nottingham Law School where she completed a research project on Divorce Reform. She went on to achieve a Distinction in the LPC and wrote her LLM dissertation on Divorce Tourism in England and Wales. Prior to joining Dawson Cornwell in September 2021, Abi spent a year working as a paralegal in family law teams at both regional and London firms.

Abigail spent her first year as a trainee working in the firm’s matrimonial department where she gained experience in all matters relating to relationship breakdown including divorce and financial remedies, Schedule 1 claims, TOLATA disputes and international cases including those with jurisdiction disputes. Her second year as a trainee was spent in the firm’s children department where she gained experience working on a variety of cases including private law child arrangements, international child abduction, wardship, surrogacy and Article 21 proceedings. Abi assisted partner Carolina Marín Pedreño on the recent reported case of D v E (Habitual Residence; Consent; Acquiescence) [2023] EWHC 1941 in securing a return order pursuant to the 1980 Hague Convention.

She speaks advanced French.
