Dawson Cornwell included in The Times Best Law Firms 2023 list

Once again we have been recognised in this prestigious list to find the best lawyers for business, public and private-client law from the top 250 legal practices in England and Wales plus Scotland’s top 20.

Each of the firms in the list has been chosen by lawyers in other law firms and we have been commended for our work in family law.

Some of our high-profile work that has been selected for praise includes: our contribution to one of the leading achievements in family law this year by being part of the pro bono legal team that drafted the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act 2022, which protects young children from being subjected to child marriage; our case acting for a mother who was left stranded in Pakistan by her husband, along with her two daughters. The judge concluded that transnational abandonment had taken place and exercised his power to order the children to be returned to the UK; and our case representing the children of a patient known as AH, who was diagnosed with Covid-19, in a case concerning the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. The Court of Appeal said consideration should be given to what guidance was given in relation to visits to patients by judges in cases involving applications for the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment.
