Profil

Gemma is an Associate solicitor in the children department, specialising in public and private children law. She is recognised as a “Recommended Lawyer” by The Legal 500 2026.

Gemma represents clients in a wide range of children matters, including complex care proceedings, deprivation of liberty proceedings, and Special Guardianship. She has successfully handled cases involving suspected Non-Accidental Injury and allegations of sexual abuse, and has achieved outcomes where children have either remained with or returned to their families.

She regularly acts for both applicants and respondents in cases under the 1980 Hague Convention, and the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court and has been involved in several reported cases. She has extensive experience with cases involving disputes about the living and contact arrangements for children, particularly those involving international elements, as well as those involving serious domestic abuse, representing parents and other family members in proceedings.

Since November 2024, Gemma has been a co-opted member of the Association of Lawyers for Children (ALC) young subcommittee.

She is a member of the Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL), Resolution, the Child Abduction Lawyers Association (CALA) and the Association of Lawyers for Children (ALC).

Gemma is also a volunteer Legal Advisor at Rights of Women, providing pro-bono family law advice to women experiencing domestic abuse.
