Described as “exceptionally excellent” and “a pleasure to work with“, Kate trained at Dawson Cornwell, qualifying in 2019, and specialises in all aspects of both matrimonial finance and children law. She is recognised as a “Recommended Lawyer” by The Legal 500 2024 and is one of the 2023 eprivateclient NextGen Leaders.

Kate advises on all issues relating to relationship breakdown; divorce, cohabitation and applications for financial remedy, as well as complex children related matters including domestic child arrangements and international and domestic relocation. Much of Kate’s work has an international element. Her broad practice means that she regularly acts for clients in relation to all of the issues they encounter following relationship breakdown, providing continuity as well as expertise.

At just one year qualified, Kate was one of four finalists shortlisted for the Family Law Awards 2020 Young Solicitor of the Year. Since that early achievement, she has acted for clients and assisted on several reported cases including a multijurisdictional case in the UK Supreme Court and Court of Appeal; a multi-week High Court fact-finding and welfare case concerning allegations of attempted murder, child sexual abuse and trafficking, across two jurisdictions; complex financial remedy cases involving trust assets; and, high value finance cases.

Additionally, Kate devotes herself to pro bono work. Every week she volunteers at Islington Legal Advice Centre. She is also a member of the Westminster & Holborn Law Society and was the past Chair of its Equality Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Kate is a member of Resolution and YRes.

Kate speaks, reads and writes German, a country in which she has lived, worked and studied. Consequently, she has a particular interest in cases with a German dimension, and often uses her language skills to assist her international clients.

She has an Upper Second degree in Law with German from the University of Sheffield, as part of which she spent a year studying the German legal system at Freie Universität in Berlin. Kate completed the accelerated Legal Practice Course at the University of Law achieving a Distinction and attaining Master of Laws (LLM) also with a Distinction. Kate spent a year in Potsdam working for the British Council and teaching English to aspiring legal and business executives at college. During this year, Kate gained experience working in a German law firm.
