Isabela is a dual-qualified solicitor and Brazilian lawyer, with a practice focused on both children and financial remedies matters, frequently acting in cases with substantial international elements.
Isabela’s experience spans cases heard in the Family Division of the High Court and the Court of Appeal, as well as local courts across England and Wales. Her work includes high and ultra-high net worth cases involving complex business and corporate structures, matters concerning high-profile individuals, cohabitation disputes, international child abduction and wardship proceedings, and contested relocation and cross-border child arrangements.
Isabela also maintains a growing practice in modern family law, with particular expertise in issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community. She regularly advises on international surrogacy, parenthood, and disputes arising from diverse family structures.
Isabela holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a specialism in public international law, alongside an undergraduate degree in law from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil. She achieved a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course, which was obtained in conjunction with a second LLM. Isabela is also the published author of a book on same-sex marriage in Brazil and of several articles on family-related matters.
Trained as a mediator in Brazil, Isabela is a member of Resolution’s YRes division, committed to constructive, solutions‑focused approaches to resolving family disputes. She is also a member of the Westminster & Holborn Law Society.
Prior to joining Dawson Cornwell as a trainee in 2022, Isabela worked as a paralegal at a Legal 500 firm in London, assisting in matters across the full spectrum of family law. Between 2019 and 2022, she also volunteered as Student Adviser, and later as Student Director, of BPP’s Legal Advice Clinic for family law.
Isabela is fluent in Portuguese and Italian and can advise clients in both languages.
