Gemma qualified as a solicitor in September 2022 specialising in public and private children law. She joined Dawson Cornwell’s Children Department in October 2023. Prior to this, she worked at a Legal 500 ranked law firm for five years in the children team of the family department. She is recognised as a “Recommended Lawyer” by The Legal 500 2026.
Gemma represents clients in a wide range of family matters, including care proceedings and local authority involvement, including pre-proceedings meetings, private children matters and cases involving domestic abuse, such as non-molestation order and occupation order proceedings. She has extensive experience with cases involving disputes about the living and contact arrangements for children, as well as those involving serious domestic abuse, representing parents and other family members in proceedings and she undertakes her own advocacy.
Gemma is a member of the Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL), Resolution, the Child Abduction Lawyers Association (CALA) and the Association of Lawyers for Children (ALC). She is committed to child focused work and is now on the Young ALC’s sub-committee .
