Placement Schemes

We offer placements for undergraduate and postgraduates throughout the year. Many of our placement students are from universities abroad.

We receive many requests for placements, but we usually take no more than two or three students at a time.

The minimum placement period is two weeks, but some stay, by prior arrangement, for extended periods of up to a year. We sometimes take students on formal university work placement schemes.

Our Placement Scheme

Our students work principally in our acclaimed international children department. Most students find the work exciting because of the opportunities they have to become involved in court hearings, often of an international nature.

Our Requirements

In order to be considered for our placement scheme, it is not necessary to be a law student but, if you are not, you must be able to demonstrate a specific interest in family law.

Preference will be given to applicants who are

  • intending a career as a family lawyer; and
  • fluent in a second language

Payment

The placements are paid (currently £100 per week).
