{"id":2796,"date":"2023-07-25T13:12:46","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T12:12:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dawsoncornwell.com\/?post_type=solicitor&#038;p=2796"},"modified":"2026-04-28T16:44:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T15:44:36","slug":"kandice-phillips","status":"publish","type":"solicitor","link":"https:\/\/dawsoncornwell.com\/ur\/the-team\/kandice-phillips\/","title":{"rendered":"Kandice Phillips"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kandice qualified as a solicitor in July 2025 following the completion of her training contract at Dawson Cornwell.<\/strong> She now works in our Children Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her time as a trainee in our Children Department, Kandice assisted Carolina Marin Pedre\u00f1o on the reported cases of <a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk\/ewca\/civ\/2025\/911?query=dawson+cornwell\">Re F, (A Child) (Habitual Residence) [2025] EWCA Civ 911<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk\/ewhc\/fam\/2025\/1598?query=dawson+cornwell\">Y (The Father) v Y (The Mother) (Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985) [2025] EWHC 1598 (Fam)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk\/ewhc\/fam\/2025\/955?court=ewhc%2Ffam\">L v D [2025] EWHC 955 (Fam)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1 degree in Law. As part of this sandwich degree course, she spent a year working as a legal assistant in Dawson Cornwell\u2019s Matrimonial Department from 2020 to 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During her time at university, Kandice undertook work experience providing pro bono advice to victims of domestic abuse, volunteering at a homeless shelter and mentoring school students from disadvantaged backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She completed her undergraduate dissertation reviewing the treatment of pensions on divorce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After graduating in 2022, she went on to study the Legal Practice Course at the University of Westminster, in which she achieved a Distinction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kandice is a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/resolution.org.uk\/\">YRes<\/a> division of <a href=\"https:\/\/resolution.org.uk\/\">Resolution<\/a>, the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uianet.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Union&nbsp;Internationale des Avocats (UIA)<\/a> and both the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and International committees of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cwhls.org.uk\/\">Westminster &amp;&nbsp;Holborn Law Society<\/a>.
