Amy joined Dawson Cornwell following her role as a judicial clerk to a High Court judge in the Family Division at the Royal Courts of Justice, where she gained invaluable insight into complex family law proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2021 with a degree in Criminology and Sociology, she completed her Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law, awarded with a Commendation. During her legal studies, she achieved the highest mark in her cohort for her research project examining the legal powers and duties of local authorities and the court orders relevant to child protection. She is currently undertaking the Legal Practice Course and is committed to qualifying as a family law solicitor in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While at university, Amy volunteered with the legal charity Support Through Court, assisting individuals navigating proceedings without legal representation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a paralegal in our Children Department, Amy works on both private and public law cases, including international and domestic adoptions, surrogacy, and complex care proceedings. These often involve cross-border issues and serious allegations such as sexual abuse, non-accidental injuries, and radicalisation, frequently alongside criminal investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
