John Cornwell had a keen interest in and love of history and art; he was charmed to occupy rooms at no 17 which had previously been occupied by Pre-Raphaelite poets and painters Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">John Cornwell:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-regular-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Famously John Cornwell founded Resolution, the national organisation for family lawyers. As he recalled, in 1982 he had &#8220;a very good idea&#8221;. He said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-xl-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I had been plagued by some really irritating letters from other solicitors (mostly in the litigation departments to their firms) whilst at the same time having perfectly sensible correspondence with many others. I thought that I would write to the good ones to get them to meet.
