María is a qualified lawyer in Mexico and aspires to dual-qualify as a family law solicitor in the coming years. She is a paralegal in our Children Department.
She graduated from the School of Law at the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico. After completing her law degree, she sat the law qualification exam, achieving a distinction, and ranked among the top percentiles nationally for which she was awarded recognition by the regulating body in Mexico.
Prior to joining Dawson Cornwell and whilst completing her law degree and qualification in Mexico, she worked at a law firm specialising in civil law matters supporting international clients living or working in Mexico.
After qualifying, María completed a six-month placement with Dawson Cornwell in the Children Department, where she worked on an array of private, legally aided and pro-bono matters. Through this she gained experience in Hague and inherent jurisdiction proceedings, as well as cases involving wardship, relocation, and cross-border arrangements.
She is a member of the Mexican Bar Association and a member of Resolution.
María is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English.
