{"id":1032,"date":"2022-12-07T09:14:05","date_gmt":"2022-12-07T09:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.dawsoncornwell.com\/?post_type=solicitor&#038;p=1032"},"modified":"2026-04-28T16:37:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T15:37:36","slug":"abigail-reading","status":"publish","type":"solicitor","link":"https:\/\/dawsoncornwell.com\/fr\/the-team\/abigail-reading\/","title":{"rendered":"Abigail Reading"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abigail qualified as a solicitor in September 2023 following completion of her training contract at Dawson Cornwell; she now works primarily in our Matrimonial Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abigail advises clients on all issues relating to relationship breakdown including divorce, financial remedies, private law children, cohabitation disputes\/TOLATA, Schedule 1 and jurisdictional disputes. She has experience acting for both HNW and non-HNW individuals, and many of her cases have an international aspect to them, with clients who live abroad or have overseas assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is a member the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uianet.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Union&nbsp;Internationale des Avocats (UIA)<\/a> and a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/resolution.org.uk\/\">Resolution<\/a>, which is a community of family justice professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way. Additionally, she volunteers fortnightly at Islington Legal Advice Centre where she assists members of the community on a variety of family law matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her time as a trainee in our Children Department, Abigail assisted Forum Shah on the case of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bailii.org\/ew\/cases\/EWHC\/Fam\/2023\/1161.html\">Re S (CA 1989, S 91(14)) [2023] EWHC 1161 (Fam).<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abigail graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2018 with a 2.1 degree in French and History. As part of her undergraduate degree, she spent a year studying in Paris at the Sorbonne. On the Graduate Diploma in Law, she completed a research project on Divorce Reform.
