Amelia joined Dawson Cornwell as an associate solicitor in 2023 working alongside Simon Bruce and Sarah Jane Lenihan in our Matrimonial Department. Prior to this, she worked in a boutique family law practice in London having trained and qualified as a solicitor in 2021 at a top tier regional law firm.
She advises principally on divorce and financial claims, including complex high value financial cases with a foreign/international element and/or complex financial arrangements. Amelia enjoys the forensic element of her cases and the detailed analysis required by them. She is also building a reputation for her “calm, supportive and assured approach” which makes clients “feel safe, looked after and listened to”.
Amelia read History of Art at the University of Bristol and graduated with a Distinction in her dissertation on commercial architecture during the Weimar Republic. She completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course with a Distinction at the University of Law, whilst working as a paralegal in a highly regarded international London law firm. She also holds a postgraduate degree from the University of Manchester in Medical Law and Ethics, which she completed part-time during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Amelia is a member of Resolution and YRes, which promotes a constructive approach to family issues that considers the needs of the whole family.
